What is poppy trail pottery?

Poppytrail Pottery was a popular brand of pottery produced by the Metlox Pottery Company in Manhattan Beach, California from the 1930s to the 1970s. The company initially produced art pottery, but began producing more utilitarian pieces in the 1940s. The Poppytrail line was introduced in the 1950s and was highly popular due to its bright colors and floral designs.

Some of the most notable Poppytrail patterns include California Ivy, Homestead Provincial, Sculptured Daisy, and Woodland Gold. The pottery was often sold in department stores and through mail order catalogs.

Today, Poppytrail Pottery is highly collectible and is often sought after by collectors of mid-century American dinnerware. Many pieces can be found for sale on online auction sites and in antique stores.
